I flew my SG116 MAX yesterday for the first time in a congested area where obstacle avoidance wouldn’t let me go anywhere but backwards, sideways, and up. I had a nice flight out a few hundred meters and then did a return to home. I canceled the RTH using the RTH button on the controller when the drone was a few meters away from landing. I then noticed that the obstacle avoidance was now turned off and wouldn’t turn back on until I landed and took off again. It looks like doing a RTH and then canceling the RTH will turn off the obstacle avoidance if desired as a workaround to turning off obstacle avoidance. It would be nice if there was a setting in the app to turn off, or, on obstacle avoidance. I was only able to get ~15 minutes of flight time before getting a low battery warning. I got my 2 battery SG116 MAX from Geekbuying for $99 with a shipping time of 7 days to the USA. IMO, overall, the SG116 MAX is a nice budget drone.
