I love this speaker! The sound is amazing, it’s compact, easy to use and has cool features! It’s even water proof! I am so happy I decided to get this speaker. I use it often and I highly recommend it to others. It’s made for great times listening to music by the pool this summer.

Super happy with. Great bass and loud sound overall. Is waterproof, tested by my preteen. Love the color changing. Have had for a couple years now, still works perfectly.great deal. I think $99 at the time, back in 2022. There’s also a button to turn off the color changing lights if you want.

Was great for a few months but the sound level has decreased from when I first bought it

Soundcore is a brand that was created and still owned by anker, anything anker is amazing. Buy this product and dont think twice about it. Highly recommended.

The Soundcore Select Pro is a convenient little Bluetooth boombox. Thanks to the rubberized handle and the waterproof rating – it can truly go anywhere. Anker brags that the speaker floats, but be aware that it does so with the speakers facing down into the water – so, It cannot be heard AT ALL while floating. It’s best to keep it out of the water, but it’s nice to know the speaker will not be lost if it falls into the pool, or gets knocked off of a boat.
The audio quality is good and the volume is sufficient for using outdoors (at a moderate range). The audio sounds slightly hollow and airy, but by adjusting the equalizer (within the app) quality can be improved. The bass boost is impressive indoors, but is understandably lost a bit when outside in a more open and expansive environment.
While the speaker is convenient, I feel as though Anker missed the mark on a lot of finer points. For example, the controls are confusing and without reading the instructions, nobody would know how to change tracks. Some of the buttons are illuminated, but not the buttons that are used most often (play/pause, volume up/down, track change). There is no NFC pairing, no auxiliary input, no radio function, and no internal memory or memory card slot.
For the most basic Bluetooth audio functionality, the speaker is quite good. But without a phone nearby, the speaker becomes useless. The speaker can be linked together in a chain of 100 speakers, but they cannot be paired or grouped in a way to play stereo sound (meaning that you cannot have one speaker play right audio while the other plays left).
If you want to take your Bluetooth speaker near water, this is the speaker for you. But, if you don’t care about taking the speaker on the go, this speaker doesn’t really stand out from the myriad of other Bluetooth speakers available.
      CONS:
      – No auxiliary input
      – No NFC (Near Field Communication Pairing)
      – No radio function
      – No internal memory
      – No memory card slot
      – No battery indicator
      – Confusing Controls
      – Not all buttons are illuminated
      – Paired speakers do not function in stereo (all speakers play identical sound)
      – Floats with speakers facing down into the water (which means music cannot be heard at all)
      PROS:
+ Sufficient Volume for outdoor listening
      + Good audio quality
+ Decent Bass (especially for the compact size of the speaker)
      + Waterproof
      + Floats
      + Equalizer available within App
      + Cool LED light effects
      + Light weight
      + Great battery life
+ Internal battery charges via USB-C Input
+ Can charge other devices via USB-A output
+ Link up to 100 speakers together
+ Rubber feet keep the speaker in place and ensure it doesn’t scratch any surface it may be sitting on
+ Mobile App is not required for use

Good speaker to add to my bluetooth speaker collection of JBL, Sony, and Bose. This one is now the big boy compared to the others. The App you can download lets you control the EQ and lights, etc. Sound quality is what I expect from Anker – really good, and the lights look cool so I’ll leave them on. This won’t break the bank so I may purchase more to pair them all together (up to 100) and have a party! It isn’t very heavy either but the sound coming out makes it sound like a much bigger speaker. I especially like the BassUp feature and that it’s waterproof which leads me to the pros below.
      Pros: USB-C charging
      Waterproof
      BassUp feature/customizable EQ
      Speaker Lights
      Not heavy
Can charge your phone/accessories in the back
      Speakerphone
      Price
      App is intuitive
      Cons: can’t think of any

The Anker SoundCore Select Pro is a waterproof portable Bluetooth speaker that is the latest to join Anker’s SoundCore lineup. The speaker features IPX7 (1 meter submersion depth for 30min), Bluetooth 5.0, 16Hr playback, RGB lightshow, USB C charging, and a USB A phone charging port. I have been using the speaker daily for the last week, so here are my thoughts.
My first impression when unboxing the speaker was it felt like a throwback to my childhood boombox radio. The form factor is dead on – the only thing missing is a fold down extendable antenna. It feels very well built and sturdy. All the lines and edges meet up seamlessly and there doesn’t appear to be any sharp/unfinish edges. The top of the handle is rubberized as well as the two feet on the bottom. I’m not sure how much it weighs, but it feels around 3-4lbs, so not too heavy.
There are 4 illuminated buttons as well as a center unlit button group. The lit buttons are bass boost, Bluetooth sync, power, and lightshow. The center unlit button group contains the volume control as well as a multifunction button between the volume -/+. The multifunction button pauses/plays (1 button push), skips to the next song (2 button presses), and restarts the song (3 button presses). If you get a phone call the you also use the button to answer/hang up. There is a mic onboard, which I think is located behind the grill near the left speaker. On the rear of the speaker is a rubber port cover that fits very snug. Popping it off reveals the USB-C charging port, as well as the PowerIQ charging port. The USB-C port is rated to accept up to 5V-2.1A to charge. I couldn’t find anything to tell me what the PowerIQ port supplies other than the ratings label on the bottom. It lists the output as 5V-1A – so a 5W charger. This is about half the charging rate of my phone charger, so it will charge your phone, but it will proceed a bit slowly. I haven’t found any official battery size, but the Anker forums seem to point to the Select Pro having a 6700mAh battery. So you can charge a normal phone twice off this battery if you really needed to.
The speakers provide 30W of sound production power. The speaker loadout features 2x 2.25” full range drivers and 2x 2.5”(?) passive radiators for bass production. The 2.25” drivers do the heavy lifting and provide the sound spectrum for the speaker. I’m not sure their frequency sensitivity other than the range extends up to 40kHz. The passive radiators are located on either end of the speaker housing and are fairly exposed. There are protective covers attached to the domes of the passive radiators, which does provide a modicum of protection.
The speaker is also IPX7 rated and it floats. I tested this out by tossing it in my sink. I watched it float around while pushing out my playlist. The speaker still functions while submerged as well. One thing that is unfortunate though is the speaker only floats with the speakers face down in the water. So, if you have it floating in the pool with you your music will be heavily muffled by the water. It is very buoyant though, so I have zero fear that it would sink. You also must keep the charging port cover pressed in place – the charging ports are not rated for water.
The Select Pro can be paired to your phone in moments, and if you don’t desire anymore control than that then you are free to play your music. However, if you want a little more control over your speaker you need to download the SoundCore app. I already have a couple Anker SoundCore products, so this wasn’t anything new for me to mess with. Within the app you can adjust the lighting modes, volume, equalizer, and how long until the speaker powers off without a connection. There are 4 preset equalizers, an option for a custom one, and a bass boost toggle. There are also 4 lighting modes to choose from – 2 are dynamic and change with the beat of the music. The other 2 are a fixed rotation of the lighting colors.
Using the speaker is nothing new – pair your phone, and select your music. I played a decent variety of genre’s – pop, classic rock, hip hop, alt rock. I found that music that mostly used punchier bass had the best sound reproduction. Rumbly/heavy bass felt a little flat, and the passive radiators couldn’t keep up. With punchier bass the radiators produced a crisp beat, that kept up with the main drivers. Vocals were nice and clear through the range. At full volumes I didn’t experience any distortion or clipping of the sound. The only time the speaker seemed to struggle was at very low volumes – the speakers just aren’t sensitive enough to nail the clarity at really low volumes. At high volumes the speaker could really push some power. I cranked the volume up and could listen clearly all around my backyard, so it can definitely fill a room with sound.
Also, as is evidenced by the design the speakers fire sound in mainly one direction. A lot of Bluetooth speakers these days feature an omnidirectional positioning of speakers. This lets you set the speaker in the middle of a table, or a group of people and the music sounds good in all directions. The Select Pro is limited here, so you need to have it placed where people aren’t trying to listen from the rear of the unit. However, it does start to overcome this at higher volumes as the sound starts reflecting off surfaces in a room more and more.
I found that this speaker was awesome as a bathroom speaker. It sits perfectly on top of the toilet tank with its back against the wall. Playing music while I’m showering or getting ready. This has been my day to day go to speaker for that purpose. It’s also very stable sitting there whereas there was always some risk with my round pill speaker rolling off.
Overall, the Anker SoundCore Select Pro is a good speaker. It’s 16Hr battery life is middle of the road, but still plenty enough that you aren’t likely to charge it super often. The speakers can keep up with most that you will throw at it, and have no trouble playing it loud. I wish the speaker had a little more bass oomph – likely not possible without one of the passive radiators becoming active and cutting into the battery life. The lightshow keeps it looking fun, and I really like the lights pulsing to the beat. Without the lights on the speaker looks very unassuming. The waterproof rating is great to have, and provides a little peace of mind especially if you plan to use it remotely close to water. The design really is a throwback to my childhood boombox which makes me like it even more. Though its not as portable as some speakers due to its size, it does make up for that by being extremely easy to carry due to the rubberize handle grip.

This is the best waterproof portable speaker in $60.
