TLDR:
(that’s Too Long, Didn’t Read)
A comfortable and convenient way to listen to music or movies but isn’t totally private audio.
Pros:
* Comfortable to wear for long periods.
* Sounds great.
* Bass you can feel.
* 360 Audio for supported sources.
* Long battery life.
Cons:
* Bass vibrates your collar bone which may feel weird.
* Audio is not totally private and can be heard by others easily.
* Controls are not completely obvious by touch, but you can get used to it.
Summary:
I use a similar product from Bose every day that looks very similar but has one big difference; that one is designed for private audio – the speakers supposedly shoot the sound directly toward your ears so you can listen without bothering anyone around you. These Sony neck phones don’t make that claim and others near me could hear the sound clearly from the same distance (although not as clearly as I could), but the audio, at least for my ears, sounded much better than than my old Bose.
You may be asking yourself why someone would want to wear their headphones on their shoulders rather than the traditional headphones with cups that cover your ears. That’s the important bit – these headphones sound great but don’t block your ears so you can hear other people or things around you. They’re not as heavy to wear because, rather than resting on the top of your head and pressing against your ears, they sit on your shoulders. I can speak from experience that neck phones are much more comfortable for all-day wearing than traditional headphones.
Battery life is exceptional with a claimed all-day 12 hours of use. A quick 10-minute charge gets you an hour of playtime and they are easy enough to charge with USB-C that plugs in on the outer edge of the unit. I would have put the charging LED near the plug on the outer edge but Sony decided to put it on the inside edge. Not a huge deal but not the decision I would have made.
These sound great for music and have support for Dolby Atmos with compatible sources like Amazon Music, etc. They also come with a transmitter box and optical cable that can plug in to supported Sony TVs to provide clear surround audio from your TV. You can actually listen to movies and TV in surround without headphones or a big surround setup. That all really makes a difference considering that the speakers are not covering your ears. You can listen to movies, podcasts, or just music and it all sounds fantastic!
As is typical with Bluetooth headphones, these also have microphones so you can use them for personal or work calls, or talking to your favorite voice assistant. They offer a ton more freedom to move around and not get fatigued by wearing standard headphones or earphones. No one on your call will know that you’re essentially using a neck-worn speakerphone.
There are buttons on one inner edge for adjusting the volume and a multifunction button for playing/pausing music or answering/ending a call. The other inner edge has buttons to mute the microphone and turn the unit on or off. The buttons are easy to find by touch once you learn where they are. I probably would have put the “Up” button closer to my neck and the “Down” button further away from my neck, but again, a small “nit.”
If you like listening to great audio while moving around, but don’t want to have your ears constantly covered, these Sony neck phones are awesome. Great audio for anything you’re listening to, great battery life, and a comfortable all-day fit. Plus. they won’t bother anyone else nearby as much as a Bluetooth speaker would.

Sound is great for such tiny speakers. Microphone is clear to other end of call. Neckband is comfortable. More open ended sound for the SO, she can hear across the room.

Functions great, but after 10hrs use already has a hole in the speaker fabric. That’s just bad quality!!!
I contacted some support (case 07587609) and there answer was “sorry that’s not a warranty issue”.
Warranty or not, a 1 month old product with 10hrs of regular use should not be falling apart.
Shame on you Sony!
Buy something else!

Try playing around with equalizer in Sony Headphones app to adjust the Bass and Treble to boost the Bass and brighten the sound.

One of the best electronic gadgets that I’ve purchased all year! This thing is incredible! Now I’m able to have loud and immersive sound right in my ears without disturbing any of the neighbors that I share walls with because I don’t have to use my actual home entertainment speakers. Whether watching movies, or video gaming, you’ll be amazed at how much better the audio experience is with this neck speaker! The additional hands-free telephone calling feature is a major plus!

I was very skeptical about the price point this neckband speakers. I was wrong! I have a surround sound and watching movies or shoes late at night made it a bit difficult because it was either too loud or too low to sometimes hear conversations when watching a movie or show. I had to resort to captions at times, so that I wouldn’t disturb my family. After two months, I can report that these neckband speaks are amazing and have resolved the issue for late night watchers with love ones asleep. To be transparent, I do own a Sony Bravia Oled and do benefit for Dolby Atmos capabilities, and haven’t head what the audio sounds like with out Dolby. My brother who also owns a Bravia tv is now interested in a pair. Lastly, i have not had any issues and am truly happy with my pair!

Sony’s NEW SRSNS7 neckband speaker is here and to sum it up in a few words, the speaker is good, but it is for a niche market. Most people use headphones when consuming their media or simply blast the media from whatever device they are using. But for those who are into audio devices that allow for being aware of surroundings, such as the Bose Frames, this may be a product for you. This unique speaker is a speaker that goes around your neck and essentially amplifies the sound of the media you are consuming with the upward speakers.
==================
SOUND:
This speaker might be used by someone who wants to be aware of their surroundings while consuming their media. I could also see those who are hard of hearing using this device. Movies, music, and podcasts are some of the items I used to test this speaker with. The sound of this speaker is good enough to where it’s not too loud, so your ears won’t get blown out. Overall, the sound is good, the acoustics are well-tuned, and the sound is deep and clear. For example, while watching the 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road, the rumbling sounds of the cars and action sounded exceptionally well. But, there were times where voices were being drowned out by other sounds. (even with using the EQ in the app) I would not use these to listen to music, music was subpar. The sound wasn’t as balanced as most speakers and playing around with the EQ in the app didn’t do much as well. But I’ll admit, the 360 spatial audio with music was a neat experience.
==================
FEATURES:
This speaker works best with 360 spatial sound. Music can be enjoyed with 360 spatial audio with select music services but unfortunately, as for TVs, this feature is only available for the Sony BRAVIA XR TV’s. A bit disappointing considering that the main part of Sony’s marketing for this speaker is the 360 audio and unless you have a BRAVIA TV, you won’t be able to experience it while watching TV. But the speaker can still be connected to a TV by using the included wireless transmitter and optical digital cable. Some other notable features are:
-The speaker has about 12 hours of battery life which was plenty and lasted a couple of days
– Speaker can also be used to connect to your tablet, phone, or PC by using Bluetooth.
-Volume, play/pause buttons are located on the inner-left side of the speaker
-There’s also a microphone built-in for calls.
-IPX4 splash resistant, although, it is not recommended to submerge this in water
-Quick charging capable, about 10 minutes of charging allowed for approximately 60 minutes of playtime
-Sony Headphones Connect app is available and allows for additional settings for the speaker
==================
COMFORT:
Comfort depends on the person. I found the neckband speaker comfortable and wearing the speaker for a couple of hours did not bother me. For others, comfort may differ depending on many factors. There is limited adjustability with the speaker, but it is flexible and ergonomic.
==================
CONCLUSION:
Overall, I do think this is a decent device. Movies sounded great but the disappointing part was the music. I felt music could’ve been a bit more balanced in sound. 360 audio was a neat experience with music but unfortunately is not available while watching TV since Sony’s BRAVIA XR TV is the only TV that supports this feature as of now. If you are in the market for an audio device that allows you to be aware of your surroundings or if you want to use this for watching TV, I do suggest you try these out.
