This subwoofer, like the rest of the JBL Stage loudspeaker series, was packed so well that I have to mention it. The subwoofer was double boxed and then wrapped with a white soft cloth. In addition to the white soft cloth, the subwoofer was packaged with a thick Styrofoam on the top and bottom for extra protection during shipment. I was impressed.
The espresso finish is very nice and has a top built quality. This subwoofer has some weight to it. At 30 pounds the speaker will stay put wherever it is placed. This sub comes with a magnetic mesh grill. I personally prefer the sub without the grill because the speaker looks beautiful without it. The subwoofer also includes 4 rug spikes that you can install if you have thick or plush carpet. On the back panel you have the power button, LFE connection, volume and crossover knob, a phase reverse selector and an auto power selector. There is also a power indicator light that will turn blue when a signal is received from the amplifier and will turn red automatically when the subwoofer is on standby mode. This sub comes with a built in 300 watts amp and dual voltage power supply with a selector from 120 or 240V.
In my current setup I have this sub paired with the JBL MA710 receiver, Stage 2 series 280F floorstanding, 245C center channel, 250B bookshelves, and the 240H Atmos. I tested how high I wanted to set the knobs by sampling some movies and music. Having placed this in my living room I set the knobs at 50% of the max. The sub-woofer can be placed in the front, side to back of your room as long as your LFE (RCA) cable is long enough. By the way, just to mention the LFE cable is not included. When it comes to sound this subwoofer does a great job when listening to music or movies. The bass was deep enough that it was felt in the entire living room. This subwoofer really compliments the JBL sound stage loudspeakers. For a 10 inch sub it does a great job.
Overall this subwoofer is great for a home theater setup or just a stereo 2.1 setup. It has a great build quality and sounds great. With its deep bass it will fill a decent size room. It is easy to setup and it will blend well when paired with the other JBL speakers in the same series. In the box you get the Sub, grill, power cable and quick guide.

The JBL Stage 200P Subwoofer kicks hard!!
The powered subwoofer complete with a Volume and crossover control on the back helps you tweak to you liking. Mine is paired to the MA310 Receiver which is a great match. When playing anything with Bass it hits hard, and will wake the dead, great sound without distortion for such a small footprint.
When playing movies, im surprised the neighbors didn’t hear it. The bass was a perfect match to the bookshelf speakers. It was like I was at the theater.
The speaker which is a 10 inch 300 watt spear is in a quality build box. It has a mesh front screen that is attached by magnets. The speakers are pollycellulose ribbed cone woofer, 2 rear firing flared openings.
Visually speaking the unit looks great for any setup. I am more than thrilled with this addition and the quality sound that I’m getting from Bluetooth music, DVD’s, streaming and plain TV.

Just be careful with the spike mounts on the bottom to not drag or pull it to adjust it when placed as it will snag carpet or scratch finishes.

JBL’s latest offering for the Modern Audio series is the Stage 200P subwoofer. This subwoofer sports a 10 inch ribbed cone design with room filing low frequency bass. The subwoofer comes in two distinct colors. Espresso and Latte. I currently have the Espresso version and I must say I really like the design. The subwoofer has an amplified power rating of 150W RMS, 300W dynamic. The controls are located at the rear of the subwoofer. Having power mode, Phase switch and crossover control helps you dial the sound to get the levels just right. The weight of the subwoofer is just right. It sits at about 30 pounds so its easy to move around to get he best results according you room setup.
Sound
I set up a 2.1 system and the sound from the subwoofer surprised me. I was expecting booming sounds, but the 200P sounded really balanced and produced deep low frequency bass. I watched over 20 hours of movies, tv shows and listened different genres of music. I must say the 200P performed much better than I expected. I would have expected this level of sound from JBL’s more expensive model. The 200P was more than enough for my medium sized game room.
Conclusion
JBL has done a great job at designing and constructing the 200P subwoofer. I was impressed with the look and the bass response that this subwoofer possesses. This subwoofer is the perfect match for any budget home theater setup and medium sized rooms.

The JBL Stage2 200P subwoofer is superb addition to a home theater setup. The woodgrain finish blends in perfectly to my current furniture, so the subwoofer just looks like a pleasing addition in my living room. But while it blends into the background, it provides the depth of low frequency that make the living room come alive.
When it comes to packaging, JBL really has the consumer experience in mind. The speakers come in boxes with instructions on how to properly and easily remove them from the boxes to make the process smooth and frustration free.
The back panel contains the ports and controls for the subwoofer. It has an option for
-power mode: on or auto
-phase: normal or reverse
-crossover knob: 50Hz-150Hz
-volume knob
-subwoofer input (the subwoofer cable is not included)
-main voltage selector switch
-power port
The subwoofer provides a deep bass that can provide punch and depth that harmonizes beautifully with the rest of my speakers. I tested it with many genres of music and several types of music, all of which left me in awe at how my home could sound better than a theater. For reference, I have a larger than average living room and this subwoofer does phenomenally in filling my space with the low frequencies without actually making any rattling or vibrations in the walls.
The speaker comes with a magnetically attachable fabric grill that protects the audio components and provides an aesthetic quality. I like that I can take them off as desired and replace them when they are not in use. Since I have small children and dust settles quickly in my home, I prefer to leave them on more often than not though. They are quite delicate though and care should be taken when handling them.
My surround system includes the MA710 7.2 AV Receiver, and the JBL Stage2 series of the following: 245C center channel speaker, two 250B bookshelf speakers, two 280F floorstanding speakers, two 240H height modules, and the 200P subwoofer.
Together JBL Stage2 components all work in phenomenal harmony that immerses me into the sound. I highly recommend this both on its own and as a part of a system.

If you’re looking to upgrade your home audio setup, the JBL Stage 2 200P 300W Subwoofer might just be what you need. After pairing it with a JBL MA310 receiver and JBL Stage 2 240B bookshelf speakers, I was blown away by the difference it made.
JBL is well-known for their car subwoofers, but this was my first time trying one in my home. The results were impressive.
Home Theater Magic
The moment I added the JBL Stage 2 200P to my home theater, I noticed a huge improvement. Whether I used it with just the JBL bookshelf speakers or with my entire surround sound setup, the change was amazing. The bass was tight, clear, and powerful, making movies come alive.
Explosions and action scenes that used to sound muddy and boomy now have serious impact. Watching “Top Gun: Maverick” was a highlight—every jet roar and explosion felt real. Even my wife, who usually doesn’t care about audio equipment, was impressed. The bass was so powerful that I had to lower the volume to keep the neighbors happy. The JBL Stage 2 200P doesn’t just play sound; it makes you feel it but in a way that isn’t just noise.
Music Performance
For music, the JBL Stage 2 200P is also fantastic. Unlike other subwoofers I’ve had, this one doesn’t produce muddy bass. The sound is clear and detailed, with great depth. I don’t use it for music as much, but when I do, it never disappoints.
I listen to a lot of Americana and classical music, where too much bass can be a problem. This subwoofer strikes the right balance, providing depth without overwhelming the music. It blends perfectly with the JBL Stage 2 240B bookshelf speakers for a smooth listening experience.
Size and Presence
One thing to note is the size of the JBL Stage 2 200P. It’s a big subwoofer, so you won’t be able to hide it easily. But it looks good. I do wish that JBL makde more of an effort with the outer material. The espresso faux wood looked plastic-y to me. If you’re going for a wood look – just use a real veneer. If that’s too costly then just go with a textured poly material. It’s not like what they did looks like a piece of fine furniture, and those that require that in a subwoofer are likely looking at higher price points.
Final Thoughts
The JBL Stage 2 200P 300W Subwoofer has exceeded my expectations. It’s great for both home theater and music, making it a solid choice for anyone looking to improve their sound system. If you want a subwoofer that delivers tight, powerful bass and enhances your overall audio experience, the JBL Stage 2 200P is a fantastic option. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.

JBL Stage2 200P 10″ 300W Powered Subwoofer in Espresso
The JBL Stage2 200P 10″ 300W Powered Subwoofer has a dark wood-toned veneer. The black Grill is magnetic and has an orange silicon ring on the back to protect the speaker’s finish if you choose to remove the Grills. This speaker is part of JBL’s line of component-based audio and is designed to take the guesswork out of system matching. It is very attractive and provides an impressive performance from a small-footprint subwoofer. It weighs in at 31.8 pounds and measures 14.2in x 13.8in x 15.2in size. It is small enough for almost any room while remaining very manageable in weight. The 200P is a front-firing high excursion 10-inch (250mm) Polycellulose low-frequency woofer with twin rear ports and a 150-watt (300-watt dynamic) amplifier that provides deep, powerful, signature JBL bass. It has a full complement of controls for volume, crossover frequency, and phase and an auto power circuit that will turn the unit on when it senses a signal. It comes with carpet spikes to provide stability and allows you to level it on carpeted floors.
FEATURES:
• 10-inch (250mm) Polycellulose Ribbed Cone Low-Frequency Woofer
• 150W RMS (300W Dynamic)
• Dual Rear-Firing Tuned Ports
• Crossover, Level and Phase Control
• Carpet spikes for stability on carpeted floors
I really enjoyed the output these subwoofers made. A deep base without being overdriven leads to a clean sound you can feel. They worked well in both Movies, TV-style broadcasts, and music. Being able to adjust the volume, crossover frequency, and phase of the subwoofer was an added touch to customizing it to your own tastes. I also hooked it up with a secondary subwoofer which balanced out the in-room bass response and offered the benefits of more power and drivers sharing the load. Though not necessarily needed in most setups, it is nice to know that it also works well in this situation.
This speaker performed excellently and is an affordable addition to a component-based setup.

I’ve been using the JBL Stage 200P subwoofer for about a week now and I have to say that it is an absolute powerhouse that takes your home audio experience to the next level. After spending a week with this 10-inch subwoofer, I’m really impressed with how it transforms both music and movies into immersive experiences. I will say that this is the first subwoofer I’ve used in quite a few years, and I didn’t realize how much I missed this bass, until I heard it again. The deep bass resonates from the front-firing 10-inch polycellulose woofer, combined with the dual rear-firing tuned ports, makes sure that every beat hits you with precision and power that you can feel.
The speaker came very well packaged with custom foam, wrap around, insert to stabilize it during transit and a double heavy cardboard box to ensure it doesn’t get damaged while shipping to you.
In my opinion, one of the best features of the Stage 200P is its ability to deliver that bass without overwhelming my living room with muddiness that can sometimes accompany a subwoofer of this caliber. The controls on the rear panel, including volume, crossover, and phase adjustments, allow you to tailor the sound to your space, whether you’re setting it up in a small room or a larger home theater. I found these controls incredibly easy to use and effective in balancing the bass with my other speakers. You will need to try your system out with both movies/tv content and music to find the perfect balance. But once you figure out how you need it set for your space, you shouldn’t need to reset it anytime soon.
The Stage 200P delivers amazing bass! It can be a whole lot of bass for a smaller room, but with the volume the controls on the backside of the unit, you can customize the power so that it doesn’t overpower a smaller room. This is definitely a subwoofer designed for those who want to feel their bass as much as they want to hear it. The Espresso woodgrain finish is a classy touch that fits perfectly with my living room decor. The overall design makes it not just a high-performance speaker but also a stylish addition to my living room.
Overall, if you’re a bass enthusiast or someone looking to add some noticeable depth to your sound system, the JBL Stage 200P is an excellent choice that you’ll love as soon as you get it powered up!

I have to start this review by stating this is the first higher end subwoofer I have owned. Previous to this I used a soundbar with a subwoofer for my living room audio setup, and a 2.1 Logitech setup for m y computer. Those setups were good enough but not anything I would consider great. With that said, I can’t speak to how well this does against other high end subwoofers but instead as a general consumer that isn’t an audiophile.
With the above disclaimer I have to say I am extremely impressed with this subwoofer. Everything about this thing is quality. I am surprised they even ship these with the weight of the speaker itself. The package it was shipped in should have been labeled 2 man carry (not really, but putting emphasis on heavy this thing is).
The enclosure this speaker in is very dense. I can’t speak for the specifications of the box itself, but its heavy. The finish of the enclosure is very nice looking with a faux wood grain finish. I imagine its a lamenent but I didn’t test it to find out and didn’t have any blemishes to expose it that I could find.
It comes with a front side guard that is made of a very lightweight foam material and connects to the enclosure via magnets. I had no issue with the covers moving around from the vibration the speaker produced. The only complaint I have in this area is the speaker guard itself has an orange outline on the inside which you can see. I would have preferred if that was simply black so as not to stand out against the speaker itself, but its a really minor thing.
On the backside you will find your controls. First you have an auto and on mode which is good for troubleshooting. It will light up blue when its receiving a signal in auto and on mode (though in auto it will display red if its not) making it easier to tell if your receiver is pushing to it. In addition to that you have your cross over dial which lets you dial in the frequency at which you want the sub to pick up. This is good for hand dialing in your sound preference. Finally you have your volume knob that lets you manually adjust how much power you want going to the sub. I personally maxed this out on my JBL receiver and it sounded great.
The only real complaint I have with this sub is the lack of an RCA cable. I understand that different people with different setups will need varying lengths of cable, but it would have been nice if JBL had included a cable so you can get this going right out of the box. I had to wait for Amazon to ship me a cable because no one locally sold them. Its a minor gripe, but still think it needs to be pointed out, and an easy fix for JBL.
As for the sound quality, its great. I was skeptical coming into a higher end sub because of my experience with a soundbar sub, but my worry was misplaced. This thing shakes my entire house when turned up. In addition to that, with movies and the cross over tuned right, it adds just the right amount of bass needed to get the effect. Paired with the rest of the sound system, this turned my living room into a theater experience. For those that saw Dune Part 2 in theaters, the opening sequence with the alien language? Yeah that hits different.
