Akaso v50x is quite good for the money. I’m used to GoPro which has very good quality. The Akaso has nice quality…especially at the $100 price point. This is one of the few inexpensive action camera that have a zoom feature. It works well. But as a digital zoom it gets grainy when you zoom closer the 2.0
One big issue. When I records for over 20 minutes. Then power it off. The next time I turn it on it tells me to the memory card needs to be formatted. Which obviously I can’t do because I just recorded video. I’ve tried a few things. I’ve googled this issue, but have not come up with a solution. So, the only thing I can do is to remove the memory card and put in a new card.

Device is nice and comes with plenty of accessories. I personally didn’t like the overzealous about of plastic wrappers. It felt extremely unnecessary and wasteful. It does not come with a micro SD card so you will have to purchase that on its own. Make sure you purchase one fast enough to handle the 4k footage.
There are two batteries removable batteries and a battery charger base. I appreciate this so you can use the device while charging another battery.
To setup the device it utilizes it’s touch screen and you simple select language, Date, Time, and format the Micro SD card. Settings are configured via the touch screen. While the buttons handle mode of operations and the like.
      Where it fails.
The device does have communication with other devices. However, it is severely hindered by bad software decisions. Such as the WIFI for the device is NOT properly setup as a direct connection and acts like a full blown AP. To make it worse the password which you cannot change is a basic 1234567890. There also is for some weird reason no Bluetooth connectivity/controls. Which would make sense for easily managing the app while retaining an Internet connection. Except this doesn’t even matter because the app on the Google Play store is just basically a PowerPoint show of uselessness. To start of with you have to sign up for an account just to even add the device. After adding it you have to play the lottery game of does it want to communicate or not. Then see what controls you actually are given access to for the device.
      Summary.
It is a decent device with good specs and features. With plenty of accessories. However, do not purchase this for its connectivity or app features cause frankly they are useless.

It has a lot of capability and comes with a lot of attachments, besides the waterproof case. I tried this camera out in a swimming pool and the camera stayed dry. The photos came out pretty sharp. I still need to practice using the camera a little more, but I was pretty impressed just playing around with it for a little while.
I’m planning a trip to Hawaii, and I want to take some underwater shots. The other included attachments are mostly various devices for mounting the camera to bicycle handlebars, bike helmets, and tripods in several various configurations. There are even one or two attachments I am still trying to figure out. You can also get an external microphone (available separately from AKASO).
The camera also features a moderate zoom lens (wide angle to 4X) and two rechargeable batteries with a charger.
I think the value and quality of this little camera are excellent. When the camera is not used under water, it is pretty easy to use; it has a touch screen with menus that are fairly easy to use. When the camera is in the under water case, some of the features are a little trickier to access (or possibly not accessible). There is a bit of a learning curve. The camera comes with a quick start guide. The quick start guide has the URL for downloading the user manual, and I highly recommend downloading the user manual. Don’t wait 2 hours before you go out to get some once-in-lifetime shots to learn how to work this camera.
The camera also can generate a wifi signal that can be used with a smart phone. There is a smart phone app available that can be used as a remote control with remote viewfinder (handy for possible wildlife photography situations). The app can also be used to copy photos or videos from the camera to your phone.

Comes with two batteries, remote control, and lots of mounting accessories. Takes pretty good quality videos and pictures.

The price point for Akaso’s V50X is a great option for budgets or new to action cameras. The camera is lightweight and comes with many accessories to meet multiple needs, including two batteries. The picture quality is 4K and not surprisingly very good. Stability has some minor movement on videos but is not significant. The picture quality is solid and captures live shots well, which are shown in the photos. There is no memory card, but prices have decreased. The menu options are clear and easy to use. Overall, for the price this is a solid option for anyone looking for a good and inexpensive action camera

The Videos & Photos are Colorful & pretty on point.

I am impressed by this little action cam! I already have another Akaso Camera, a Brave 7 LE, but since I did not use the front screen very much and needed another camera (kids took my Brave – hahaha!) I decided to try the V50X. I am a junkie for cool/well done packaging, you know like Apple products, and this little camera kit genuinely wowed me… they package up this so neat and cool. Always giving off those expensive/high priced vibes. 😀 Most folks won’t care but first impressions to me are the packaging, and they did a great job. Read the directions for how to remove the camera from the display post and you’ll appreciate how they even engineered that part well! As far as all the features and settings, time will tell for me. I like what I see so far, and since I’m an old tinkerer and not a video creator guru or anything all the bells and whistles will take me some time to figure out. I like the quality of the pictures and video I’m seeing but you know… your milage may vary in those regards. I like the high-end branded cameras as well but for me and my limited budget these fit my needs. I shot a comparison size picture with the V50x alongside my Brave 7 and you can see that is very nearly the same size… I do wish the battery platforms were shared but they aren’t. But no big, this one comes with 2 batteries, and I have not had any problems with my Brave batteries, so I expect these to be as good or better since they are newer tech. Oh, and I was also blown away by all the attachment goodies they provided. Looks like you may be able to mount these things on a spaceship! Kidding, but you do have a lot of nifty attachment options included for you to start using your new kit right away. Be sure and pick up a good quality memory card so that you can get up and running just as soon as your batteries are charged up… Mine were actually nearly full when I got it, so I was up in no time. Anyway, I’ve rambled… just get one for yourself and see what I mean. And some of you will likely do some comprehensive video shooting and comparing… I’ll look forward to seeing other folks’ opinions, but I won’t back down off the value of this camera to me! Good Job AKASO!

Camera is very fancy, beautiful, and compact. The camera screen is touch screen, so it is very convenient. Connection with App makes me use the camera very easily and functionally.
