At version VII you get the bonus of a bigger zoom but at the cost of a slower lens. I found that I can up the ISO to 3500 with acceptable noise. Auto focus is spot on. Still trying to find a programmable short cut to toggle focus eye on/off. Really solid and no complaints about battery life.

Great point and shoot camera. Can’t say that it matches up to a DSLR, but I don’t carry the DSLR much. The higher end phones take arguably batter shots at normal focal length, but you of course can’t zoom. I don’t regret the purchase. Takes very fast snaps. See the attached photos. The close ups of the turtles are at max zoom, so that was punching the limits. I only put 4 stars because the price makes it a tough decision, I am happy with it though.

I have a passion for live music performances, and I’m always on the lookout for a reliable camera that can capture the essence of the moment. Luckily, I’ve stumbled upon a game-changing device that ticks all the boxes. What sets it apart is its versatility – it’s allowed in both local theaters and massive stadiums. But that’s not all; with 20.1 megapixels and an F-stop of 2.8, it produces stunning, high-quality images that are sure to impress. Another perk is its compact size – measuring just 2.3 inches in height, 4 inches in width, and 1.7 inches in depth, and weighing only 272.1 grams – it’s incredibly easy to carry around. Whether you’re in the front row or up in the nosebleeds, you can rest assured that you’ll capture all the action with stunning clarity and precision with this camera. This camera boasts a touch screen that rotates a full 180 degrees, making it the ideal tool for capturing those perfect selfies. The audio quality is nothing short of exceptional, while its video quality at 4k, 30fps is truly impressive. However, I have noticed that the lens may retract slowly when turning off the camera, which can be somewhat problematic when one is in a rush to store it away. In my personal experience as a fellow enthusiast, I wholeheartedly advocate for this particular camera model as the ultimate all-in-one option that can fulfill all of your photography needs. It’s pricey but the pics are beautiful and the camera is tiny. I bought a cage for it so it’s a tad bit bulky now but it also has a better grip and feel better carrying it around. Perfect compact camera.

I absolutely love this camera! its allowed into venues a lot of the times since its not a “professional” camera. It has great zoom, an amazing manual mode, and does exactly what I need it to in a compact size. attached are 2 pictures I took on this camera from the stands of a concert

This latest Sony RX 100 camera has excellent advanced features. The optical zoom is increased, the viewfinder opens and shuts with a single click or push to close and maybe the best of all the autofocus is amazing. Depending on the shot, the lens will focus on the dominant object in the middle of the frame, unless you tap the screen to set the area you want in focus. If people are in the frame, it will lock on the faces and when possible, will lock on their eyes for amazing shots. I like the compact size with advanced manual features for creative work. The only negatives I found were; The video button is very small and hard to find if you are using the viewfinder to take a video and the camera is somewhat slippery to hold. I tried the leather screw-on case but didn’t like the long neck strap and the large screw on the bottom caused you to lay the camera on the lens or LCD screen. I added the Sony stick-on grip to the front and that helps. I’ve had several Sony cameras and this is the best by far.
